Privacy
In short: Lauter does not collect any personal data. The app has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics tools. Your videos and recordings are processed only on your device and are never uploaded.

Your files
Lauter reads and processes the videos and audio files you open only on your device. Files from Photos or “Open in” are copied to the app’s cache so you can reopen them from “Recent”; iOS may clear this cache when space runs low. Exported files stay in the app’s temporary folder only until you have saved or shared them. No content is transferred to me or to third parties.
Access to photos
You choose videos with the iOS picker; Lauter only sees the file you selected. The app asks for the “Add to Photos” permission only when you save a result to Photos. It cannot read your library with it.
Data stored on your device
- The “Recent” list (file name, duration, chosen volume and a reference to the file) is kept in the app’s storage. It is removed when you delete the app.
- The number of free exports used is kept in your device’s keychain so that it survives a reinstall. It contains no information about you.
Purchases
Unlocking is handled by Apple’s App Store. Apple processes payment and billing; the Apple Privacy Policy applies. The app only receives a signed confirmation from Apple that the purchase is valid and verifies it on the device. The app connects to the App Store for purchasing and restoring; it makes no other internet connections.
Crash reports and testing
If you agreed in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides me with anonymised crash reports. If you test a pre-release version via TestFlight, I see the details Apple provides for this (e.g. name, email address and your feedback). The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a bug-free app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Email support
If you write to me, I process your details (e.g. email address, message content, device and app version) to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Contact privacy@ut-systems.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at).
Changes
If the way Lauter handles data changes, I will update this policy and the date above.
